Racquet Club Hotel Liverpool
For this winter wedding we arrived at the beautiful venue of The Racquet Club Hotel in Liverpool. An historic building set within the city centre used to be a private gentlemen’s club and is stooped in history. Today as we know it this Victorian elegant hotel is a perfect setting for a wedding or party. We have previously performed at this venue so we were familiar with its layout and were due to perform here again for another wedding in 2 weeks time.
The lovely couple Leanne & David had booked the full PA System as they knew they wanted live music at their wedding during their evening function and wished to use our PA for their own personalised playlist. We arrived early as we prefer to be setup as the guests arrive and if we have plenty of time it allows us to iron out any problems we may have. Our aim is to make the day run as smoothly as possible to ensure the bride and groom have nothing but happy memories on their big day.
It was fantastic and we played over our usual set time to ensure the couple had plenty of live music. The bride looked absolutely stunning, so elegant and the venue was perfect for the theme they created. Entering the Racquet Hotel is no easy feat, there are so many stairs, so navigating a huge PA into the entrance is quite hard work.
Their evening function was on the first floor meaning we would need to fight with the lift to gain access and cram our equipment all our equipment in. Its quite a funny task hauling equipment in lifts as you put a speaker in and the lift disappears if you’re not quick enough to hold the door with a bag.
We were arriving at the same time as the company who were providing the dance floor and also as the room was being changed over so there were people everywhere and it was a bit of a challenge to setup in time.
We set up the evening PA and after dinner the guests started to arrive. The interactive percussion went down a treat and our case was emptied in a matter of minutes; it was a fantastic day.
