The Rag Tag Misfits supported the band Dodgy (who are also supporters of The Trussell Trust Food Banks) as part of their UK tour as they embarked on yet another epic adventure around the country in their van “Scooby” to complete their “Sing for Your Supper” challenge in aid of food banks throughout the UK. The Rag Tag Misfits took to the road and set the challenge to busk in every county in England whilst living in their van and upon completion thanks to the support of the public raised nearly £1500 for food banks. They kept their followers up to date with an online blog and this year hope to write a book and produce a DVD detailing their adventures. They had support of many sponsors who donated goods and services to help with this mammoth mission; including MOTO Hospitality, Hohner, Strings & Things, Roland, Ernie Ball, Sutherland Trading, Virgin Trains, Park Plaza & Anand International.
They were also asked to participate in the production of “Statue for Eppy” project. “Statue for Eppy” is a fundraising project honouring the life of Brian Epstein who gave us access to some of the most influential music that has shaped the music industry today. They joined other local celebrities at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool to record a fantastic song written by Bob Pitt called “Our friend” The song was produced by the wonderful Billy Kinsley of the Merseybeats.
They have appeared on many local radio stations up and down the UK including BBC Radio Merseyside, BBC Radio Derby, BBC Radio Wiltshire, BBC Radio Cumbria, BBC Radio Lincolnshire, BBC Radio Norwich, BBC Radio Surrey, BBC Radio Stoke, BBC Radio Leeds, BBC Coventry & Warkishire, Radio Woking & Its all Good Radio. Full time working, self sufficient, travelling musicians they use a unique combination of vocal harmonies and guitar combined with acoustic drums, percussion and harmonica. All their performances have two things in common; it’s always live and always entertaining.
